Instructional Alignment with Activities and Assessments
The key to effective instructional design is to have clear and active instructional objectives that are appropriately aligned to learning activities. Each objective correlates to an assessment strategy and "Absorb, Do, or Connect" activities. When objectives are not aligned with corresponding assessment and activities, intended learning outcomes may not be met.

"Absorb" activities allow the learner to take in or discover new information. "Do" activities allow the learner to practice the concepts taught during "Absorb" activities. "Connect" activities ensure the learners can incorporate their learning into their work and lives.
